In its new expanded format, Ravens Gridiron has already had record number sign-on for the 2009 season at Birkdale and Coorparoo.
The expected strong junior ranks have been boosted by an amazing early turnout for senior football.
Pre-season training is well underway, with the enthusiasm and commitment to the training programs under Coack Knight and Coach Box very pleasing at this early stage.
Training continues Monday and Wednesday nights, with juniors from 5-7pm at Birkdale and Coorparoo, and seniors from 7-9pm at Coorparoo.
10 June 2009
Although the 4th place finish wasn't what the Ravens representatives had hoped for, there were plenty of positives for Ravens players during the week of Junior Nationals competition.
Ravens Kieran Ward and Will Sunerton were named team captains for the tournament, leading the team well in the three games. Safety Paget Hoad was selected as the Team MVP for the tournament, having a standout tournament with 2 interceptions, over 15 tackles and excellent yards on kick returns.
Running Back Jameson Clifton scored a rushing TD against ACT and QB Phil Cottis threw a TD pass in the same game. Wide Receiver Todd Stein got his hands on the ball throughout the tournament, having over 100 yards receiving. The offensive line duo of Tyler Willis and Will Sunerton barely missed a snap in the tournament, helping the QLD run game to the top yardage on the ground in the tournament along with TE David Hodkinson. 2008 Raven Darius Holliday-Miller scored 3 TDs in the tournament and accounted for the leading yardage by running backs in the Nationals competition. CB Jay Begley and LB Calum Andersen contributed well to the defensive unit described by visiting SMU Coach Jeff Reinebold as 'playing defense how it is supposed to be played'.
Congratulations also to the Ravens coaches who committed enormous time and energy to guide the state campaign.
The Ravens look forward to having all state representatives back in the club arena this season.

29 March 2009
The 2009 Ravens Gridiron season looks to be a great one after the huge success of Sign On Day. Over 70 players signed on for the two junior and senior teams, with the
expansion to Coorparoo seeming a huge success.
The Bayside Ravens Juniors and Eastside Ravens Juniors both saw some impressive new player numbers but the really big winners on the day were the seniors who look
to have a large squad in assembly.
Thanks to Ravens committee members Steve Box, Liam Flannery and Paul Knight for spearheading the sign on events, with great support from junior delegates David Hodkinson
(Bayside) and Ken Andres (Eastside).
Anyone interested in playing this season who couldn't make sign on, should contact Steve Box on 0402 859 406 to make arrangements.
Training for all teams commences Monday 4 May.
29 March 2009

role of Coaching Coordinator. This committee will look to guide the Ravens along the exciting road ahead for 2009.

Along with the sign on activities, Sunday 29 March will see the Ravens committee settled for 2009 with the club AGM at 5pm following sign on at Bottomley Park. Those
interested in nominating for President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary should make use of the
form here to submit their interest prior to the AGM.

21 February 2009
Ravens Gridiron as it enters a new era, is looking for new players to be part of the 2009 campaign in Seniors and Juniors at Coorparoo and Juniors at Birkdale.
As an incentive for new players and for existing players to actively recruit new players, the Ravens are introducing a new recruitment promotion - "Our Team = Your Team".
Any new player who becomes a fully financial member and any existing player who is responsible for recruiting a fully financial member will go into the draw to
win a replica jersey of their favourite NFL or College Team.
This winner of this promotion will be drawn at the Ravens Team Presentation in July. So, make sure you are along at Sign On Day on Sunday 29 March as
a new recruit or with a new recruit to have a chance at winning the "Our Team = Your Team" promotion.
8 February 2009
Ravens player Harry Alderton will travel to Britain in July as a member of the 2009 Australian Outback squad.
Following his contributions as a member of the Queensland team at last year's National Championships, Alderton earned the selection for the 2 week tour
which will include international matches against Great Britain and Sweden.
We congratulate Harry on his selection and wish him well with preparations for the team.
3 February 2009
The 2009 Flag Football draw has been released and is now available for download on our Flag Football page.
1 February 2009
Bayside Ravens Gridiron Club growth and expansion will see an exciting new development in 2009, with the establishment of the club's
base at Bottomley Park, Coorparoo after spending the past seven seasons at Judy Holt Park.
The move allows the club to capitalize on the recruiting potential in the eastern and inner southern suburbs for both junior and senior divisions.
To maintain a strong presence in the Redlands, a junior team will also be based at Judy Holt Park, meaning a two-pronged attack on the Gridiron Queensland junior
competition. Geographic location will be the initial determinant of player allocation, with the goal of two strong and even teams.
Bayside Ravens juniors will remain at Birkdale, under the leadership of Head Coach Steve Box, with players from the Bayside/Redlands area.
