The inaugural season of Ravens Flight League Flag Football came to a conclusion on Wednesday 9 April, with the staging of Bird Bowl I at Judy Holt Park.

The Warriors were the victorious team in an exciting final, decided within the final 30 seconds to give a 48-42 final result over the Wolverines.

The high-scoring contest showed the skill and determination of the Wolverines, who played 3/4 of the game with only 4 players after an early injury.

Matt Nugent (Moundbuilders) was awarded Tournament MVP, collecting the most weekly votes.

Congratulations to the Warriors on the success, congratulations to all teams who participated during the season, and thanks to all of the volunteers who helped make the first season a successful one. We look forward to an even better season of flag in 2009.

The inaugural Ravens Flight League Flag Football competition will come to a conclusion on Wednesday at Judy Holt Park as the Warriors and Wolverines battle for the title.

The two teams finished the season atop the ladder and progressed to 'Bird Bowl I' in what should be an exciting and high scoring affair.

The Warriors boast the most prolific offense in the competition and should be keen to add plenty to the scoreboard this Wednesday. For the Wolverines, creativity and understanding has formed the basis of their strong season, using matchups to their advantage.

Following Bird Bowl I, the competition MVP will also be presented to the player who received the most weekly votes.

The last regular season game of Flag Football finished last night with the Warriors taking first place.

Nine teams have been formed and registered for the inaugural Flag Football 'Flight League'.

Games commence next Wednesday 6 February from 6.30pm.

Wednesday 30 January will be the first session for Ravens Flag Football. This will be a compulsory night for all players to register and pay fees, everyone to learn the rules of this competition and to have a warm-up run around. As this is a formal competition, it is important that all players are appropriately registered and insured.

Flag football sign-on and registration is $30 which includes GQ membership and the public liability insurance, etc as required by the league. $15 of this fee will be directly credited towards full registration for anyone who plays with the Ravens in the '08 season. There will also be a fee of $2 per week for each player to help cover costs.

The first session will be on Wednesday 30 January from 6.30pm at Judy Holt Park (at Ravens training field).
